Dominic Lau

Dom is a Partner at Ripple Ventures, leading the west coast office in Vancouver. He joined the firm in Toronto at inception and is also the founder of the RippleX Fellowship, one of Canada's largest student founder and VC network.

Starting his career in accounting and finance, he worked with clients from startups to publicly traded investment firms. After discovering a passion for startups and technology being exposed to founders in the Toronto/Waterloo ecosystem, Dom decided to start freelancing and consulting with early-stage companies in the ecosystem. He also worked with emerging managers starting their own venture capital firms, and met Matt along the way as he was starting up Ripple.

Now, Dom is primarily focused on investing in the best pre-seed companies in Canada & the United States, and helping them scale to become successful companies. His superpowers are in anything operations/finance related, navigating tough situations with founders, and making key introductions to customers and downstream investors.
