Founded in 2022 by Johnny Kinder, Dean Clark Jr., and Tom Hanley—who previously built WePay (acquired by JPMorgan Chase for ~$400M)—the team saw firsthand the gaps in HRIS, identity management, and security tools, inspiring them to develop a more seamless approach.
We first met the founders through our friends at Menlo Ventures who referred us to the company as the opportunity was too early for their fund to invest in. While we joined the process a little late when the company had already received several term sheets from top-tier US firms, we moved quickly as well as leveraged our founders to provide references to win us the second-largest allocation in the small pre-seed round alongside Array Ventures and a long list of strategic angels.
